Sitting at the north-western tip of Belitung Island is Tanjung Kelayang,
which offers an exotic beach with soft white sand and outcrops of huge
granite boulders spreading 10 km long across the North West part of the
 island.
In 2015, Tanjung Kelayang was named as one of Indonesia’s 10 Tourism
Special Economic Zones. In fact, Belitung has been named the Seychelles
of Asia with its unique and beautiful granite rock formations and beaches
of fine white sand surrounded by pristine shades of turquoise waters.
Boats plying along the beach offer trips to smaller islands which offer
ideal locations for snorkeling and scuba-diving. Lengkuas Island is a short
boat ride from Tanjung Kelayang, another popular landmark with its 19th
century lighthouse, built during the dutch occupation on the island.
