The volcanic island of Krakatau is a 1.5 hours speedboat ride from Tanjung
Lesung. The volcano erupted in 1883, making it the loudest recorded
eruption in history. Later in 1927 a new island, Anak Krakatau (Child of
Krakatau) emerged. Anak Krakatau is still undeniably one of the most
active volcanoes in the world. Today, the island attracts many tourists
and adventurers to explore the historical significance of the place.
