sizeable community of Balinese
who have settled at Giri Jati area,
26 km from Belitung capital during
President Suharto transmigration
era: a policy of migrating
people from densely populated
islands to less dense ones.
They are a close-knit Balinese
community in Belitung consisting
mainly farmers and miners.
